What to bring:

To ensure you and your dog have a successful weekend, please come prepared with the following:

  • A Standard Leash: A 4-foot or 6-foot flat leash (no retractable/flexi-leashes, please).
  • Comfortable Harness or Flat Collar: As a force-free workshop, no prong, choke, or e-collars are permitted on the premises.
  • High-Value Treats: Bring a large supply of “the good stuff”—think pea-sized bits of boiled chicken, cheese, or specialized training treats that your dog finds irresistible.
  • A Settling Mat: A familiar rug, towel, or portable bed where your dog can relax during downtime.
  • Water & Bowl: While we will have water available, having your dog’s familiar bowl can help them stay comfortable.
  • A “High-Value” Chew: A stuffed Kong or long-lasting chew to keep your dog occupied during the lecture portions.

Participant Safety & Requirements

  • To ensure a productive and low-stress environment for all attendees, please review our participation guidelines:
  • Dog-Friendly Dogs Only: This workshop is designed for dogs that are comfortable in the presence of other dogs and people. If your dog barks excessively, lunges, or shows signs of significant reactivity or aggression, a group setting may be overwhelming for them. We would love to help you via private consultation instead!
  • Health & Vaccinations: For the safety of the “pack,” all dogs must be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations (Rabies and Distemper/Parvo). Please have a digital or paper copy of records available.
  • Human Handlers: For safety reasons, handlers must be 16 years of age or older. Family members are welcome to observe, but we ask that only one person handles the dog at a time to maintain consistency.
  • The “No-Contact” Rule: To keep stress levels low, we maintain a “yellow dog” policy—please give all canine teams at least 6 feet of space and do not allow nose-to-nose greetings unless specifically directed by the instructor.
  • Zero-Tolerance Policy: To maintain our science-based, force-free standards, the use of physical corrections, leash pops, or aversive collars (prong, choke, or shock) is strictly prohibited. Use of these tools will result in a request to switch to a flat collar/harness or, if refused, dismissal from the workshop without a refund.
Not sure if your dog is a fit?

If you are worried about your dog’s ability to handle a group environment, please reach out to us at [Insert Email/Phone] before registering. We are happy to help you determine if this workshop or a private session is the best path forward for your “Happy Dog.”
